Hy Local Guides,

What an incredible milestone! :100: In December 2024, initiative put out the series till 2024 :clipboard: and we celebrated One Year Anniversary :partying_face: of Celebrate with Me & now I am thrilled to announce that the initiative has completed its 100th celebrative series on the 10 years of Local Guides :sparkles: & 9th birthday of Connect :tada:.

Why the name “Celebrate with Me” :red_question_mark:

Initially, the idea behind the “Celebrate with Me” initiative came from Come out in this Pride Month post in June 2024.

During that time, the name was fixed for the initiative & it was never the name you came to see today - it was “We Celebrate…Day/Month”. Then after a while, I realised that if the post is named “Celebrate with Me”, it gives the local guides a reason to celebrate and contribute to Google Maps. When you read the title, it’s you who celebrates the day/month with the community & it surely gives a drive to celebrate.

How did the journey begin? :thinking:

The idea behind the initiative was to Come out on this Pride Month with follow up by the “Celebrate with Me” posts.

During the announcement of me as Accessibility Champion :trophy:, some of the series was mentioned with it.

At 50th series, initiative got recognised at Celebrating 10 years of Local Guides Mapping the World Together.

In August, “Celebrate with Me” initiative celebrated its One Year Anniversary with the community & put out a year round directory of all the series/posts under the initiative.

During the series, the initiative gave rise to sub series like International Women’s Week for featuring Local Guides, Supporting Local Women Owned Businesses & Challenges. Pride with Local Guides :rainbow_flag: & Support Eco Friendliness :recycling_symbol: series are also a part of the initiative which was started on respective celebrative days.
