Today is celebrated as Pansexual Pride Day (December 8th). Before I start, I am proud to say that that I am a pansexual (sexuality/sexual orientation). This day is one of the main day for Pansexual Community, other is Pansexual Visibility Day on May 24th. As you may have doubts, Pansexuality comes under LGBTQ+ spectrum. Also pansexuality is a sexuality and that raises a doubt : What’s difference between sexuality and gender identity?

Difference between Sexuality and Gender Identity.

  • Sexuality/sexual orientation defines as what person/gender you are attracted towards. For example: Pansexual, Bisexual, etc…
  • Gender Identity defines what person/gender you want to be called as/known as.
    Note: Pronouns cannot be listed as gender identity.

What is Pansexuality

As there is lot of sexuality, I am going to explain about today’s speciality.

Pansexuality/Pansexual is a sexuality/sexual orientation where that person is attracted towards person/people regardless of their gender identity. In other words pansexual can be described as person who is attracted towards people from spectrum like man, woman, non binary, queerfluid etc… “Pan” means “all” or “every”.

Pink - represents attraction towards women.
Yellow - represents attraction towards non-binary people.
Blue- represents attraction towards men.

Thank you for writing in detail and educating local guides about Pride Day.
I am aware we have a Pride Day parade in Pune every year.
I caught a glimpse of it last year.
I will try to get some photos of the parade this year :rainbow_flag:
