Celebrate Library Shelfie Day With Me

Hi Local Guides, :books:

Today is celebrated as Library Shelfie Day (Fourth Wednesday of January). Like you, I didn’t know about this day until I visited the local library in the area this morning. Library put out this poster to celebrate this day by taking a selfie with the shelf and to preserve books. They also organise today a volunteer program to organise every bookshelves in that library.

How we as a Local Guide can celebrate this day!

  • Visit a library (public/university).

State Central Library in my hometown .

  • Add accessibility features :wheelchair_symbol: of that library through photos and in reviews!

Wheelchair accessible :wheelchair_symbol: entrance and Tacile paving path of library above mentioned!

  • Add the interior section of the library (if the one block of library continues to another section).
  • Share photo of parking :p_button: section of the library in the Maps.

How we as a Connect Community can celebrate this day!

  • Share a Shelfie (selfie in front of a bookshelf) from your own library or public library in the comments.
  • Show us your book collection and how to organise your shelves.

New addition of Book Stand in various parts of my city!

I am just a newbie to book collection and don’t have a book shelf but I have some interesting old editions from my grandfather like “A Tales of Two cities”. Can’t wait to see your local library/bookshelf photos!

Thank you @TravellerG for your valuable comment and words! When doing this post, I thought about your Home’s library section! You are actually pointed out and thank you doing that. In this Digital age, one way of preserving books is to make it a Digital copy. Most of library uses it as more Researchers need old books to refer!
