As we close out another year filled with meaningful connections and inspiring contributions, we’d love to shine a spotlight on one of the most heartwarming series on Connect — the “Celebrate with Me” initiative 
, led by our community cheerleader @Rahul001 More than just a collection of posts, this initiative reflects a beautiful mindset: finding joy in everyday moments and turning them into shared celebrations with our global Local Guides community.
The Idea Behind Celebrate with Me
What began as a simple concept called “We Celebrate Day/ Week/Month” soon transformed into something more personal and inviting — Celebrate with Me.
With this subtle but powerful shift, @Rahul001 turned calendar dates into community experiences, inviting Local Guides worldwide to participate, reflect, and contribute together.
Over time, this initiative has grown into:
More than a year of consistency
A recognisable and loved series across Connect
Each post highlights international days, awareness weeks, cultural moments, and joyful little observances, encouraging Guides to link their real-world experiences with Google Maps contributions.
Why the name “Celebrate with Me”?
Rahul says: The idea for Celebrate with Me was born during the “Come Out in This Pride Month” post in June 2024. At the time, the initiative had a different working title — “We Celebrate… Day/Month.”
However, as the series evolved, it became clear that the name needed to feel more inclusive and inviting. Celebrate with Me does exactly that. The title itself extends an invitation — encouraging Local Guides to not just read or react, but to actively celebrate and contribute on Google Maps. When you see the name, it feels personal: you are celebrating the day or month alongside the community, and that shared spirit is what truly drives participation.
