Celebrate Croissant Day With Me 🥐

Hy Local Guides, :croissant:

Today is celebrated as Croissant Day (January 30th). This baked pastry is so delicious that even a plain croissant is as delicious as the filled one. This pastry is crescent shaped rolls which are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Croissant is said to have originated in Austria, back in the 13th century.

There are a lot of varieties of croissant. Mainly it divides into what filling is used, how it is baked and what base ingredients are used. For me, it’s a chocolate filled croissant with honey on the top. Croissant is so good with honey that you don’t need any fillings for it.

How to find Croissant in Google Maps

Search “Croissant near me” phrase in the search bar of Google Maps. If any Bakery/restaurant/cafe has a croissant in their menu, it will be shown in the results.

This is where caption and adding the name of a dish to Maps comes in help. Adding caption to a food photo/adding name of a dish can help in :

  • When searched for the phrase “< food name > near me” , the result also shows highlights with images.
  • Moves your photo to Restaurants/cafes menu highlights which in turn get you more contribution views.
  • More points like “tagging offerings” (3 points).
