Hy Local Guides,
Today is celebrated and viewed as Wellderly Day (March 17th). This Day is to have and maintain the healthy lifestyle of Older Adults or Elderly Persons. The word - Wellness and Elderly came into emphasis of wellness and healthy life for the elderly community.
As part of this Day, I want to tell how we Local Guides can contribute to Accessibility and to help of Elderly Community in Google Maps.
An Awesome Idea and Initiative has been started by @TravellerG called Accessibility: WHO Global Network For Age friendly Cities and Community. By knowing this, the term “Age Friendly” is useful for elderly community and can collaborate all age groups into this.
Do you know that Kochi (Kerala) is the First Age Friendly City from Southeast Asia, credited by WHO.
What can be Age-friendly in Google Maps?
- Includes all age groups from the feature Kid-friendliness.
- Must have accessibility features as elderly persons may use any one of the accessibility.
How can we Contribute towards Age Friendliness as a Local Guide?
- Review is the main part for contributing towards Age-friendly in Google Maps. You can do something similar to how you do for Accessibility. (By adding
or
)
- Adding photos can show Age Friendliness to Google Maps. Photos like Sign boards, entry fee for age groups, different queues for Age groups, etc… can be added to Google Maps.

Share Age Friendly features you see in the places you visited in the comments and tell how you contribute to Age-friendliness.
