Hy Local Guides, ![]()
This week (November 1st to 7th) is celebrated as World Communication Week globally. We as local guides are an effective communicator with the contributions we upload on Google Maps. Our goals have always been centred around sharing knowledge, experience and information onto our community which is a better communication in action.
Whether posting helpful reviews (by @AdrianLunsong), adding vibrant photos (by @TravellerG) or answering questions on Google Maps, we are communicating with millions of users through our contributions. This week is a perfect reminder to celebrate our collective voice and platform that brings us together.
Our Inspiring Communications
Our community thrives as we communicate with respect and clarity on every post. Some of the example are:
- Decade of communications

- We proudly celebrate 10 years of Local Guides which celebrates our collective journey of mapping the world together. - Our Connect’s Birthday

- We celebrate our Connect’s 9th Birthday in 9 Questions for Connect’s 9th Birthday Answered where our fellow local guides answered our community questions, a true testament to continuous communication. - Accessibility and Inclusion

- Providing Accessibility is one of key forms of communication in the form of contribution. As @EmekaUlor highlights in his post, Making Maps More Inclusive: Join the GAAD 2025 Celebrations, our contributions helps Google Maps & world more accessible and welcomes to all. - Community Communications

- Events like ConnectLIVE bring our digital communications to life. Check our @MerlinThomas’s post about her day on ConnectLIVE Bangalore. - Be a Great Communicator
- We local guides should communicate on Connect within the guidlines which foster essential, positive and inclusive environment for everyone.
Let’s celebrate this week with our favourite communications of our community.
