Reviews are one of the core elements of Google Maps and the Local Guides program and as part of the 12 Months of Celebrations, I wanted to put some focus on it throughout the month of September. And, I would like to highly encourage the community to join in and share their thoughts, best practices, examples and also host meet-ups related to review writing!
The past few months have been super busy for me. I’ve attended Connect Live New York (May), gone on a month’s long backpacking across Europe (June), attended EuroMeetup 2025 in Lucca (June), volunteered for the Manchester International Festival (July) and Manchester Pride (August)…so apologies for not being very visible on Connect! I am still trying to get back into a decent routine of work so that I can catch up on everything!
For September, I hope to share some of my travel experiences via reviews, talk about writing reviews for festivals or events that are only on for a specific time of the year, and also host a virtual meet-up to share different review styles, best practices etc. Has my previous review method (F.A.A.C.T.S) stood the test of time or has it evolved yet again?!
And I am also looking for collaborators to join me for September!! Specifically:
-
co-write a post on Connect for best practices
-
be a guest on the virtual meet-up to share your review style, why it works for you, challenges of review writing etc; I’m looking for a maximum of 3 guests.
Please help to share this post to your local communities and hopefully we can sort something out for September! And if you’re interested to collaborate with me, feel free to comment below or send me a private message! Or if you want to share your own tips on writing reviews, please go ahead and plan it out for September! Please do tag me so that I can learn from you all too!
Lastly, I am going to be posting some exciting plans for November and December which will heavily rely on the various Local Guides communities! So stay tuned and I will update this post with a link to that post when it’s ready!
