The Big Brother of Tabletop Alarm Clock Lives on an Island

Just when I thought I had seen all types of clock towers and public clocks, from the most decorative to minimalistic, this one took me by surprise.

It resembled my tabletop mechanical alarm clock from the 90s.

This clock was standing pretty on Belle Isle in the Detroit River in the US.

@Erna_LaBeau and @keithlabeau took me to the island in their car, and we spent a day.

When I spotted this huge public alarm clock, I requested Keith to slow down so I could capture this photo.

Have you ever come across a large version of an object you’ve always known to be small in size?

Please share a photo and a Google Maps link in the comments.

Thank you, @Gurukrishnapriya, for appreciating my hobby.

There are also train spotters, aeroplane spotters, and bird watchers.

Same with me @Annaelisa
We have a 40-year-old alarm clock the size of a palm, and it needs to be wound by key daily. :alarm_clock:
The alarm winding key is separate. That needs to be turned to set the alarm.

@TusharSuradkar it is a nice shot!

@Gurukrishnapriya, after spending a day with @TusharSuradkar, now wherever we go we will check the clock tower. Sometimes, @keithlabeau said lets take a picture of the clock and send it to Tushar!. When you got a niche into something it it hard to just pass it. As I explain to Tushar when we come across to Little Free Library, this is my niche!
