I bumped into the Cadillac Square food trucks by chance when taking a stroll in Detroit in June 2023.
This square regularly hosts Michigan’s largest assembly of daily food trucks with a fleet of over 80.
These are seasonal food trucks open only from April to October, serving lunch from 11 AM to 3 PM.
I noted that the street food in Detroit had a blend of traditional and modern culinary delicacies.
Both signature dishes of Detroit, the Coney Dog and the Deep Dish Pizza, were available in the food trucks of Cadillac Aquare.
Compared to the top restaurants like American Coney Island, exploring local food trucks and markets provided me with an authentic taste of Detroit.
There were ample free seating facilities all over the place
Though I mostly prefer walking and standing, and look down at the sidewalks for amazing art on the manhole covers.
At first it may seem a little weird, nevertheless it is a wonderful and totally Detroit.

Der Platz für die Imbisswagen sieht’s sehr gut aus @TusharSuradkar so sauber, ordentlich und mit den ganzen Sitzgelegenheiten. Der Bedarf ist sicher auch durch die Geschäfte in diesem Bereich gegeben, nur wo bekommen die Leute im Winter an das Mittagessen
