The Detroit Foundation Hotel has an interesting and unique history.

This was the Detroit Fire Department.
Their emblem can still be seen on the left side as DFD:
The Detroit Foundation Hotel is a boutique hotel in a beautifully renovated fire station.
The two mythological figures with wings represent fire extinguishers with care.
I enjoyed an evening mini party
get together with colleagues in the evening.
The hotel interiors are spacious, vintage, and somehow very homey…!
The large arched entrances were where the fire brigade vehicles would be stationed ![]()

They also had some basic outdoor seating, nothing to write much about.
Looking at the half-burnt bricks, maybe this was a smoker’s zone.
They also have on display the firefighter’s gear and uniform on display from over 100 years ago ![]()
