Street Art in Detroit with its Own Google Maps Location

During June 2-7, 2025, I explored Detroit on foot, taking the well-paved sidewalks all over downtown.

My tracker showed a total of 37 miles in 7 days.
That was 5+ miles every day.

The Steve Wonder Mural is a prominent street art found easily on Google Maps.

It is accessible only via the valet parking area of the Hilton Garden Hotel.

It is so huge, the letters DETROIT painted below the mural have their own little art work within them

I visited each of those, but more on them in future episodes.

The next one that no one can miss while walking is the ‘Waiting Statue’ outside the Campus Martius Building

If the metro station walls are considered street art, here’s one at the Hutingon Place Station. In Detroit, it is called the ‘Public Mover’ train. And the best part is it is FREE. Just board it and travel all over the downtown without spending a Nikol

Here’s another stunning sidewalk in Detroit that is completely painted with vivid colors.
It was a super delightful experience to walk on this patch on a dull and overcast day.

It is on Michigan Avenue just outside the bus stop at 5th.

This mural is huge by any standard and is visible from miles away.
It is painted on the walls of Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.

The odd-looking modern art is entirely made of wood and is found when walking along the sidewalk of Michigan Avenue, and is part of the decorations of the The Yard Bar at Corktown.

These are a few more street arts in Detroit, of which I am very sure about the Google Maps location.

Nevertheless, they are huge and look amazing.

The mural is on the walls of Eldora General Stores on Michigan Avenue.

Finally, here’s the one that I liked the most during my walks.
A cute red bull standing pretty outside the Mercury Burgers and Bar.

These street arts are awesome and quite attractive to the eyes. However, this one particularly is a classic one with art work within each and every letter of Detroit. What an observation @TusharSuradkar!

I enjoyed going through this.

Indeed, that is also worth noting @curatorofmemory - no vandalism, no posters :+1:
Yes, they were a good break during an endless walk along concrete sidewalks, although they were well-paved for almost the entire duration.

I remember walking past 28 large parking slots to get closer to this mural @Kumaarsantosh, it is indeed huge, since it is visible from a mile away.

WOW, to see my home town in the eyes of others, it is very different and very beautiful. I may take advantage of them and do not look at them the way others do. Thank you for bringing the beauty of it @TusharSuradkar
