A Public Clock greeted me on arrival in Detroit

Immediately after alighting the DAX bus from airport to downtown Detroit, a nice public clock greeted me, as I started walking to my hotel.

This clock is located at the corner of Washington Street and Fort Street above the Fresh Mex restaurant.

The clock had 3 faces and dials.
Here’s a view looking directly from below

The clock seems to be sponsored by Comerica which is a bank in Detroit.

Sponsorship or not, the clock was hanging out there, determined, telling the time to passersby, just like local guides, who do their job selflessly.

what a cool public clock. not too big like the others but very functional. so far the big clock towers that i have visited are only Big Ben in London and Makkah Royal Clock Tower (which is the biggest clock tower in the world right now). thank you for sharing your interest @TusharSuradkar

Well, if you have created so many links here using mobile then hats off to you. I just can’t imagine that.

Anyway, it’s a unique clock located on the edge of the building with such design. Thanks for sharing with us.

Cheers!

Those links are copied from the previous post.

Here I added only the link to a Connect post, Google Maps link of the place, and insertef photos, + added caption.
These 4 activities were challenging on a mobile

@TusharSuradkar sir that’s a great observation! It’s interesting how that public clock, like a dedicated Local Guides, stands there selflessly serving the community by keeping everyone on time.

Yes, I do @ShreyaMusings

Maybe you have heard about train spotters who keep a watch on trains wherever they go, type of railways, engine type, and so on - it is their hobby.
Also, there are plane spotters, who observe flying planes, identify the airline, the plane design, and the manufacturing company, etc.

Similarly, I am a clock-tower spotter.
Thanks for the appreciation

Yes, that is their favorite place and most appropriate for maximum benefit.
I noticed many such corner-public-clocks and will write about them soon.

Thank you, @BudionoS
I think the clock towers, as someone mentioned recently, are more of a show of power and authority, whereas these simple ones placed on the corners are meant for helping everyone around. I subscribe to this view.

Yes, I agree too @SaylliWalve1
It is at a corner facing 3 sides and not its own tower.
Thank you for the appreciation :+1:
