Discovered a Clock Tower in Serendipity

I found this tower on the way to the Thane Meetup last year.

I traveled in an auto-rickshaw from the Vandana ST Stand.

When I saw this clock tower, I asked the auto-wala to stop briefly and step out of the auto to capture a few photos and marvel at its beauty.

The name is Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Tower.

The joy of discovering something by chance when we least expect it is matchless.
This is called Serendipity.

So the Thane meetup was a double bonanza for me last year.
Meeting new local guides + an amazing clock tower that looked iconic :smile:

An interesting observation @Annaelisa
I am also curious.
Looks like a column from ancient greek architecture.
Maybe just for decoration.
I now must find out from the locals during my next visit there.

Because the design of the column/pillar is definitely not Indian style.
It is of European origin.

Yes, I noted that @Annaelisa
It says a statue.
Probably there was one in that place.
But now removed or gone missing.
I am visiting this place next month and will certainly try to find out the story behind that pillar from the locals.
