A Clock Tower in Tokyo Surrounded by Awesomeness

Near the entrance of the Asakusa Metro Station in Tokyo is an ordinary shopping mall called the EKIMISE.

What makes this place special are the monuments that surround it.

Looking east is the majestic entrance to the Senso Ji Temple.

On the west are the Tokyo Sky Tree and the Golden Tord monuments.

It is only here that one can find:

  1. A major road with modern cars and buses.
  2. The Shinkansen Bullet train track.
  3. Tokyo Metro route.
  4. Human-pulled autos.

The human-pulled autos are not fun rides for tourists.
These are serious taxi operators who work for a living, like the ones in 3rd world countries.

Also on the sidewalk footpath, I found amazing drawings that appeared as decorations but in reality were serious directional indicators.

These are especially useful on cloudy days when Google Maps says head West

Finally, here’s another mode of transport, a few meters away from the clock tower.
The river cruise on the River Sumida in Tokyo.

What an amazing spot, @TusharSuradkar! I love how you not only captured the clock tower but also highlighted the rich variety of surroundings — from Senso Ji Temple to Tokyo Sky Tree, and even the human-pulled autos. The directional indicators on the sidewalk are such a smart touch too. Your detailed write-up makes it feel like I’m walking there myself!

I love seeing places like this. The compass is beautiful. I was surprised to see a human-pulled rickshaw in Tokyo. Thanks for sharing @TusharSuradkar ji.
