Discovered a new Clock Tower in Gurugram

I lived in Gurugram for 2 years from 2003-05.
It was a silent place and the street I lived saw little or no traffic.

In October 2024 I visited the Google office in Gurugram for Contributors Conversations.
Now my street is lined with several shopping malls and a swanky metro station has also come up. The station’s name is MG Road Metro Station.

I took the metro to Delhi to attend a meetup hosted by local guides.
From the metro’s window, I noticed that one of the malls also had a clock tower.
I quickly used the mobile phone camera to click a few photos from the moving metro train.

Later I figured out from Google Maps that the mall was called City Court.

This is also visible in the photo just below the dial.
oops…! The photo is a bit blurry and also I have a basic mobile phone camera.

Yes! I have seen the clock tower in Kanpur,Meerut and, I believe, in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. In Hindi-speaking states, we call it ‘Ghanta Ghar.’ Almost every city has a place named Ghanta Ghar. There’s an interesting story behind it—it’s said that the British built these clock towers to change the working hours and lifestyle of the people living here.
