The Royal Clock of the New Palace in Kolhapur

Last year I traveled to Kolhapur to host the first meetup there and get the local guides started with LG Connect and hosting meetups.

The venue of the meetup was the famous City Palace.
Little did I expect that the palace also hosts an amazing clock tower.

It was a sight to behold.
The white dial was shining in glory in a casing made of light brown stone.

The dial was protected by canopies in the famous Char-Bangla style.
On top of the clock tower was a Chhatri umbrella with beautiful arches and a dome.

At the base of the clock tower were several cusped arches.
It was grandeur all around.

This was a mesmerizing sight.
This was by far the most decorated clock tower I visited.

The name of this clock is the Royal Clock.
