Dear Local Guides,

India Local Guides is excited to host a hybrid meetup on The Role of Local Guides in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This format allows Local Guides from all corners of the world to participate—whether in person or virtually—making it a truly global event.

The meetup will not only highlight the incredible efforts of Local Guides toward achieving the SDGs but also serve as a platform for community building. The outcomes of the event will be compiled and freely shared with the public, demonstrating how Local Guides are contributing meaningfully to the United Nations SDGs.

To encourage wider participation, I am preparing a series of topic-wise bibliographies related to the SDGs. The first installment is focused on Sustainability and Recycling. These bibliographies are intended to inspire and guide you in preparing your contributions for Connect and the meetup presentations.

While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, I welcome your suggestions or corrections—please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Don’t forget to post your work on Connect and submit it for presentation during the meetup. Let’s come together and show the world how Local Guides are making a real difference!

I’m removing the “In the news” tag from your topic as it is not used correctly in this case. The tag should be used if you have your story about your Local Guides or Google Maps achievements featured in any news outlets, local or online.

Using the right tags on your topics makes it a breeze for other Local Guides to find what they’re looking for in the community.

On Earth Day, I organized a meet-up that was covered by the local print media. A news clipping about the event was published the following day in Dainik Navjyoti. The article mentions my name, Krishna Kant Sharma, as the Principal, and also references India Local Guides.

Given that the news clipping highlights both my involvement and India Local Guides, would it be appropriate to use the “In the news” tag in such a case?
