Recycle Plastic Waste ♻️

We all are concerned about Mother Planet - ‘The Earth’. And, we do our best to save our planet in whatever capacity we can do in our day-to-day life.

To further support this, we have got a wonderful platform as a Google Maps through which we can help the environment. Even our small contribution will make a difference.

As an inherit habit, I always update the sustainability attributes religiously for the place I visit. I go to their Google Maps url and using Edit features under the About tab, update the Recycling attributes.

Even I ensure answering the questions about Recycling.

What I discovered now is another Sustainable solution for plastic wastes by recycling them. Recently, I visited New Delhi Railway Station (Ajmeri Gate side), India and discovered this amazing development in the campus of a restaurant. This restaurant is based on Rail Coach Restaurant concept and known by Ticket to Taste.

Here, I discovered the effective usage of plastic waste by recycling it. Plastic Waste is Recycled to make benches and Waste bins.

45 Kg Plastic Waste is recycled to make one bench as shown in Photo 1.

24 Kg Plastic Waste is recycled to make two[1] Waste bins as shown in Photo 2.

This is a welcome change which also teaches us how to transform our weakness into strength[2].

This encourages us to be morally and socially more responsible citizens towards our Mother Planet - ‘The Earth’.

Since, recycling attributes for this place was not available on Google Maps, I could not edit this feature but I have uploaded the photo to this place to spread the word.

I am focussed and observant to discover and share on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle :recycle: attributes on Google Maps for the places I visit.

What is your take on this to help the environment on Google Maps on the topic Recycle to Save Earth to Save Yourself. Please share in the comment box.

I have shared my idea earlier via the feedback form to include Sustainability as one of the tags on Connect.

Keep building a well-informed community stronger :flexed_biceps: together.

Stay Happy, Stay Healthy!

Thank you @Kumaarsantosh for sharing this and being a voice for sustainability. In my city, new initiative is started called Smart city Initiative where cities are transformed in which new Waste bins are installed. As part of Waste bins, Smart Bins are placed to dispose Dry waste. Authorities can check the level of these waste bins through online and collects them whenever it’s full. I also stand with you to have sustainability as a tag.

Thank you for once again highlighting sustainability efforts through Google Maps @Kumaarsantosh

The post is both impressive and inspiring.

I took a walk today around my area and spotted the various recycling bins installed by an NGO at various places.

However, using Google Maps to update these places looks elusive, since none of my edits have been approved yet.

Here’s a photo collage.

Some time back, I used to upload these locations, and they were approved within minutes. But not any longer - this is dampening.

All of these were uploaded to Google Maps last year.

That is interesting @Rahul001

Pune too was part of the Smart City initiative and perhaps continues to be so.
And I think those dustbins I shared in my previous reply here are all part of those initiative.

The benches and the waste bins are really noval; however, I have read about this sometimes back, though I don’t remember the publication.

@Rahul001 … Smart Bins are really nice & novel idea… hope the authorities will maintain it properly…

Yes such benches were deployed in my residential society a couple of years ago. That’s the established practice to Recycle Plastic Waste :recycling_symbol:.
