Hello all
We as Local Guides did lots of things for a better planet. And there is no doubt that for us on Connect the efforts of @ErmesT are really inspiring, especially by Local Guides Clean the World Project
So, this is a simple suggestion in this way and to help have more eco-friendly cities.
As I experienced, in some cities, (ex. Mashhad) the recycling culture is purely accepted and people pay attention to giving recycling materials to the respective places. But in some other cities, it is not well-accepted and many people even don’t know there is a recycling drop-off location near them.
Adding this category to Google Maps was good but after adding many of them to the map, I think this special category isn’t enough. Most of them still don’t have reviews after months and this shows people have no sense about them. Even I checked this in popular cities like London, Paris, and NY, and the situation is less or more the same!
There should be a special icon for the Recycling drop-off location and Recycling center on the map that is visible even without searching (like grocery stores) and could be detected at first glance. I think using a green color (different from the green color of the Park icon) with the well-known global Recycling logo, will be clear and really effective to aware people of the importance of recycling.
This will help people to understand these are some green and accessible locations that could be used in daily life.
What is your opinion?
