Did You Know? No more than 4 consecutive replies are allowed on Connect

Hello Fellow LGs,

I have observed this feature today while I was responding to the comments on the post by @Rahul001 on Pride with Local Guides series.

I was able to post FOUR responses seamlessly. The moment I tried to post the 5th reply, I got the below prompt and could not post my reply.

This seems to be an inbuilt feature of New Connect.

Did you know this earlier or have you faced this prompt before? Please share your experience with the screenshot in the comment box below.

Oops, I didn’t know that. I think that is something to do with the traffic on the connect.

Thanks for sharing, @Kumaarsantosh .

Cheers!

That is something new I got to know  @Kumaarsantosh , but I think @AjitThite is right, I also think that it is to control traffic in connect and post

I faced this inbuilt feature while responding on my Accessibility Champion post. Author of the post can reply to more than 4 times but other LG’s can’t. @Kumaarsantosh

Thank for reminding, @Kumaarsantosh !

Quite soon after the new Connect was introduced, somebody found this out. Personally, I did not see the message yet. Probably, because I tend to write fewer responds, sometimes with multiple quotes and usually edit/extend a comment multiple times

Thankyou for telling us @Kumaarsantosh sir.

Hi @Kumaarsantosh Yes I have faced this issue multiple times while trying to respond to the same post. As a workaround I had to visit a couple of other posts, like and comment there and then come back to the post I had to reply originally. Thank you for bringing up this topic

This is new to me @Kumaarsantosh
Never experienced this.
I continuously post 20+ replies some days, but I have never seen this.

Thanks for sharing, dear friend @Kumaarsantosh, Yes, I confirm, I noticed this a few days back.

Hi @TusharSuradkar ji, I believe Connect Moderators have that privilege.

Good point :+1: I will check and verify it. We should know what exactly @PrasadVR ji

:pushpin:Update

Thanks for contributing to the discussion. I have further gone deep to study and find out the facts. Here are the key remarkable outcomes of my study to support this discussion:

  1. If read carefully, details are there in the pop-up message box itself as shown below.

2. This pop-up message surfaces while replying 4 consecutive replies on the post which is authored by someone else than the responder. So, if you are the author you can consecutively respond and you will not get such pop-up message.
3. Four consecutive replies refer to replies on the same post[1] and not the number of replies on different posts.
4. This limitation is specific to New Connect as in the previous version of Connect, I have evidence here, where more than 4 consecutive replies were allowed on the post authored by someone else.
5. Please note: such limitation does not affect your ability to reply on other posts or create/edit any new post.

How to get rid of this limitation

You need to wait for someone to reply to you on the same post. The moment someone else respond on the post after the 4 consecutive replies of yours, this limitation gets lifted again for next 4 consecutive replies. This can be evidenced here.

In all probability ‘YES’. This is not a bug but it seems to be an in-built feature for some purpose @Saddam_1.

Yes-that could be one of the reasons but not very sure as you still have an option to reply and contribute on other posts.
