Hello Fellow LGs,

Let us contribute to Increase Visibility on Parking :p_button: for a place though Google Maps.

One of the simplest ways to help others find and know about Parking is by updating the Parking attribute for a place[1] on Google Maps.

How to Edit Parking attribute for a place on Google Maps:[2]

Here are the step-by-step guidelines to be followed to edit Parking attribute of a place on Google Maps. And, to explain hands on experience, I have taken the example of Pracheen Hanuman Mandir, Connaught Place, New Delhi, Delhi 110001. This is also one of my contributions on Parking on Google Maps.

Step 1: Go to the profile of the business on Google Maps. In this example Pracheen Hanuman Mandir and tap on About as shown in Photo 1.

Step 2: Go to Edit features tab under Features as shown in Photo 2.

Step 3: Go to Parking section as shown in Photo 3.

Step 4: From the given descriptions, tap a description to change it to:

  • True True
  • False False
  • Unsure Unsure

And tap on the Submit as shown in Photo 4.

I have edited Parking attributes for Pracheen Hanuman Mandir as depicted in this photo as False for first four parking descriptions and True for the last two descriptions on Parking.

Once the Submit is tapped, you get a Thank you message as shown in Photo 5.

It is so simple to edit Parking attribute for a place on Google Maps. It does not take much of time but it helps a lot to the visitors of the place knowing about Parking details.

You do not get any Points to edit such attributes on Google Maps but it helps a lot to the users of Google Maps.

    2. You can only suggest edits to business attributes on a mobile device.
    3. For new places, such edit features may not be available.

Editing feature is one instance but it has many facets to it and hence it is important to highlight, discuss and explain with examples for easy reference. Each and every attribute within the Edit features is equally important and hence need to be highlighted separately to help our Local Guides.
