How to find and answer simple yes/no questions to help others on Google Maps

Hello Fellow LGs,

As a Local Guide, we can help update information about a place on Google Maps by simply answering questions.

Let us contribute to Increase Visibility on various useful information for a place through Google Maps.

This can be easily done by answering simple yes/no questions to help others on Google Maps app[1].

In Scope: Answer simple yes/no questions to help others using mobile devices.
Out of Scope: Delete your answers.

Following are the ways through which you can find the option to answer simple yes/no questions to help others.

Through Place’s main page

Step 1: You can directly go to the specific place on Google maps by entering the name of the place you have been to before or you can also tap a place on the Map. Refer Photo 1.

Step 2: At the bottom of the place’s main page, a prompt Know this place? appears, if you have visited or reviewed this place. To answer questions, tap OK or to dismiss, tap Close. Refer Photo 2.

Step 3: Once OK is tapped, a pop-up message appears with a question (e.g. Are there toilets here? or any other relevant questions pertaining to that place), based on your experience and knowledge about that place, you can answer Yes/No/Not sure. Refer Photo 3.

Through your Google Maps Profile Contribution Page

There are two options to answer simple yes/no questions through the Profile Contribution page.

Option 1: You can go to your Profile contribution and look for the section with text ‘Answer simple yes/no questions to help others’. Tap on Start. Refer Photo 4.

A message will pop-up[2] as described above in Step 3. Based on your experience and knowledge about that place, you can answer Yes/No/Not sure. Refer Photo 5.

Option 2: You can go to your Profile contribution and look for the section with text ‘Answer simple yes/no questions to help others’. Just below that tap on ‘More ways to contribute’. Refer Photo 6.

Go to the tab ‘Check the facts’ and see if there are some questions. Refer Photo 7.

If there is some question like shown in Photo 8[3], based on your experience and knowledge about that place, you can answer Yes/No/Not sure.

The more places you contribute to through your Photos, Videos and Reviews and/or searching the place on Google Maps, it may prompt a wider range of questions. Please ensure to answer based on your experience and knowledge about that place so that others can be benefited from your contributions.

Such contributions to Google Maps also help Local Guides moving up in the Fact Finder Badge (Novice to Expert to Master)[4].

This way we can keep the information correct and up to date for a place on Google Maps. And, you also get 1 point per answer.

Hope you find this post useful.

Keep building a well-informed community stronger :flexed_biceps: together.

Stay Happy, Stay Healthy!

The option 1 you shared is something I always enjoy contributing to. When I return to it after a few days, the number of questions sometimes even goes up to 300.
Thanks for sharing @Kumaarsantosh Bhai ,

Very good outline @Kumaarsantosh
I do this every day and record it on a chart along with my other Maps activity. Not sure what causes the variation in the flow of questions, but I just keep answering until they stop coming. My lowest day this month was 10 and the highest was 94.

I don’t think I ever had a 300 like @KashifMisidia but one day last month was 207 and a day in January was 117. My total Answers as at today’s date is 28073.

After your comment, I opened Google maps, and tried this option again. But couldn’t break my own record

288 is very commendable @KashifMisidia. I don’t think we have much control over how the questions flow, but you’ve contributed to a lot more POIs than I have, so you have a broader base for new questions to answer at any point in time.

That’s the powerful statement @NareshDarji. It is because of seasoned LGs and CMs like you, others are getting motivated and updating the information on Google Maps.

Thank you @tony_b for your compliments and sharing your statistics on the topic.

In addition to this, sometimes we also get a question asked because places are changing frequently. One of such examples is depicted below:

Alles sehr gut erklärt @Kumaarsantosh und auch ich beantworte regelmäßig Fragen.
An manchen Tagen hört das System fast gar nicht auf mit den Fragen und an anderen hat es manchmal keine Lust dazu und schreibt nur, alles erledigt :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
