We are now in countdown mode for Community Spotlight 2025! I hope that you are ready for an amazing TWO MONTHS of celebrations as we turn the spotlight onto some of the amazing communities that make up the Local Guides program!
In 2025, the Local Guides program turned 10 years old and we’ve been busy celebrating this momentous milestone with so many community led activities as well as official challenges, virtual photo booth, Connect Live events in New York, Tokyo and Bengaluru and a fun Scavenger Hunt, amongst so many other things!
As we start to draw the year to a close, we are turning the spotlight back to you, the tireless volunteers who continue to contribute to Google Maps through your reviews, photos, videos, edits, road mapping, flagging and reporting… and also to sharing your passion with us all on this wonderful forum that we call our home away from home!

I have no idea what their plans are but they did say that it will be simple and sweet. Considering how busy they normally are, I am already grateful that they wanted to be a part of this! 
I have seen the plans for most of the other communities already and…Oh. My. Gosh. They are so good and I’m super excited to see all their plans unfold soon!

In general, all the spotlights will start with a post on Monday that introduces you to the respective community. This introduction post should contain the agenda for the rest of the week. During the week, you will learn more about the community, interact with their members and join in the celebrations!
