Introducing the LG10ScavengerHunt - a chance to team up with your fellow Local Guides for some real-world adventure!
We’ve partnered with Let’s Roam to create a scavenger hunt just for Local Guides. It includes Google Maps and Local Guides trivia, alongside photo and video challenges.

The ground rules for your Scavenger Hunt adventure
- The #LG10ScavengerHunt will be available until 11:59pm (EST) December 31, 2025
- Connect meet-up guidelines apply: Scavenger hunts are meant to take place in regular Local Guides meet-ups, so the standard guidance & rules apply.
- Please use the #LG10ScavengerHunt tag for your meet-up so others can join in the fun!
- Same experience for all: Whether you are the host (meet-up organizer) or a participant, you'll have the same scavenger hunt experience and receive the same recognition for participating. The hosts' role is only to create the meet-up on Connect and to set up the team in the Let’s Roam app.
About the experience
- Designed for in-person exploration: The scavenger hunt is designed for IRL adventure. In-person meet-ups are recommended as only a some of the challenges can be done virtually
- Let's Roam app: You'll access the scavenger hunt through a third-party app called Let's Roam, which is not affiliated with Google. If you run into any technical issues, please contact the Let's Roam support team. See the FAQs below for more details.
- English only: The Let's Roam app & scavenger hunt is currently only available in English.
Getting started
- Check for existing meet-ups near you We encourage you to join an existing meet-up. Scavenger hunt teams need a minimum of 5 participants.
- Host a meet-up:
- (Hosts only) Follow the directions below to set up your team in the Let’s Roam app
- (Hosts only) Create your meet-up on Connect following the standard the standard meet-up guidelines

- How long does the Scavenger Hunt take to complete?
Your team’s scavenger hunt will automatically end after 12 hours. - What do I need to participate?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes & shoes for walking, bringing water to stay hydrated, and making sure your device is fully charged! - Where should we host an #LG10ScavengerHunt?
The scavenger hunt can be hosted anywhere in the world. We recommend choosing a location you’re familiar with to make planning and navigation easier. Start your meet-up at a spot where your group can comfortably gather to review directions. - What kind of challenges are involved?
The scavenger hunt includes photo/video challenges and some Google Maps & Local Guides trivia - Can I do this on my own?
The scavenger hunt is meant to be done together! We recommend a minimum of 5 participants per team - How many people should I have in my team?
For the best experience, we recommend organizing teams of about 5 to 10 participants. If your meet-up has more than 10 participants, we recommend splitting it into multiple teams. - What is Let’s Roam?
Let’s Roam is a third-party app that offers scavenger hunts and activities to help you explore the world and connect with others. - Why are we using a third-party app?
We chose to partner with Let’s Roam because they offer a ready-to-go platform for scavenger hunts. - What if I have trouble using the Let’s Roam app?

How to earn your Connect badge
- Follow the naming directions: Please follow the directions below to ensure you have the correct name for your Connect meet-up, scavenger hunt team & individual username in the Let's Roam app. This helps us easily identify your group!
- Team up: The scavenger hunt is designed for teams. To make the most of the activity (and to earn the badge), you must have a minimum of five participants in your team.
- One team, One badge: We encourage you to join one team and complete the scavenger hunt once. The challenges are the same for all, the true thrill is in that *first* discovery and team collaboration! The #LG10 Scavenger Hunt badge will be awarded once per participant.
