What a Day! Our LG10ScavengerHunt at the Heart of Hyderabad - Charminar!
I’m incredibly thrilled to share this first personal ScavengerHunt experience —because this was not just my first ever in-person meet-up, but also the first for Saritha (@palsar) and Chakri (@mychakri)! Being there was an absolute blast, and this day has instantly earned a special, unforgettable spot in our LG careers.
A huge thank you to @Kristen_NYC for initiating the brilliant #LG10ScavengerHunt challenge that brought us all together! We also want to thank @K.K.Sharma, whose initial ScavengerHunt in Delhi here served as a great inspiration for our own event. Thank you @nish_25 for your initiative in organizing this local event; it was truly wonderful participating in the challenge with you.
We kicked off our adventure right at the iconic Charminar! We started with a peaceful Darshan at Shri Bhagya Laxmi Mandir, Charminar, the very old and famous temple standing right next to the monument.
Then, it was time for the essential fuel: Irani Chai at Nimrah Cafe & Bakery, one of the city’s oldest and most famous cafes.
Since it was Sunday, the entire Charminar area was absolutely buzzing, packed with visitors—which honestly just ramped up the excitement! Adding to the adventure, we were lucky: earlier forecasts had called for severe rain and thunderstorms, but thankfully, the skies held out! This allowed us to fully enjoy the hunt.
We stepped right into the busy Laad Bazaar lanes, and the scavenger hunt started immediately. We hurried past vibrant stalls filled with bangles and pearls, took lots of funny challenge photos, and had a great time laughing together. Our main goal was to explore local businesses and important landmarks.
ScavengerHunt Highlights & Team Contributions
The team was fantastic!
- Rahul (@DaripelliRahul), the youngest member and a passionate Local Guide, constantly threw out creative ideas that were key to completing some of our toughest challenges!
- Saritha (@palsar) and Chakri (@mychakri), in their first meet-up, did an outstanding job capturing the necessary details, especially focusing on local businesses and the important contributions of women-owned local businesses in the area.

We ended the official hunt with a satisfying tiffin and teas at Hotel New Udipi Anand Bhavan before heading to Imliban Park.
Key Takeaways
Beyond the fun of the hunt, the highlight of the day was connecting with fellow Local Guides for the first time and making new friends! During our tiffin break and throughout the challenges, we had great discussions, sharing useful Google Maps tricks and tips. I also focused on capturing high-quality photos and videos, and specifically checking accessibility features, to make sure our contributions truly support both the local businesses and the wider community.
We called it a day and caught the Metro back home from MGBS Metro Station..
Overall, the LG10ScavengerHunt was a phenomenal success—a high-energy mix of adventure, culture, and pure joy that we’ll be talking about for years!
