Join us for an unique hybrid meetup at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India as part of India Community Spotlight :india: 2025, organised and coordinated by @curatorofmemory during @AdrianLunsong’s Community Spotlight to celebrate 10 years of Local Guides :glowing_star:.

We will be exploring glorious and magnificent Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, India’s Richest Temple and historic Chalai Street Market that surrounds it.

Meeting/Venue Point :round_pushpin: : Methan Mani :school:, Trivandrum.

What to Expect :sparkles:

  1. For Physical Attendees, the meetup will start at 10:00 am. We will explore the surrounding area to photograph and update Google Maps with relevant information. The meeting point from physical attendees will be at Methan Mani :school:, in front of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. We will be also updating local businesses from adding store front photos to editing new businesses to Google Maps while we walk through the Chalai Market.
  2. For Virtual Attendees, virtual tour will start at 10:30am and will span to 12:30pm. We will show the community the stunning architecture and surroundings of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple while exploring Kerala’s Oldest Street Market, Chalai Market.

Note - Virtual tour + answering questions/doubts is in 2 hours of the virtual meet-up. Additional suggestions for virtual attendees to explore nearby culture or historical museums (World’s First Palm Leaf Manuscripts Museum) can be arranged.

Oof.. I’m back in the UK now and just realised that this meetup is from 4.30am to 7am :sweat_smile: If I’m awake, I’ll join.. but no promises!
