Introduction:
As Local Guides, it’s often amazing which of all of our great photos on Google Maps is our star photo, stars . It’s an update on the previous Top 100 Star Photo Leaderboards post of 5 November, 2022 and contains a set of leaderboards that, as well as showcasing the star photos of hundreds of Local Guides, it presents a very detailed analysis of their performance. Whether you’re a Level 10 or a Level 5 Local Guide, we all have a star photo , so you can join in to showcase your star, and it’s simple to do. Simply hit this link or if you want to find out more about these leaderboards, then this is a good place to start !
So what can you learn from the Star Photos Leaderboards?
You can learn a lot by the very detailed analysis of the star photos of the hundreds of participating Local Guides including, for example, what type of places and what type of photos seem to get the most views on Google Maps and remember, views are important as they indicate how helpful your photos are to Maps users.
Is this a competition?
While there is an inherent competitive element within them, the aim of these leaderboards is to motivate us, help us to think about and monitor our contributions and performance, and show us how we can improve and make better contributions so that we achieve better results all in a fun and enjoyable way! If this can be done then these leaderboards will have achieved their objective; mission accomplished!

Reading the leaderboards
Briefly, this is what you need to know about the leaderboards in this post. For more details see the leaderboard documentation :
The leaderboards present details about the star photos of participating Local Guides.
Where shown,
An asterisk (*) shown after a Connect Username indicates that that Local Guide is a Connect Moderator.
Double asterisks (**) shown after a Connect Username indicates that that Local Guide is a Googler.
A ? or the words “Not set” in a cell indicates that the respective value hasn’t been provided by or cannot be determined for the respective Local Guide.
Selecting any of the Connect Usernames will take you to that Local Guide’s Connect Profile.
If the Maps Category of a star photo listed on the leaderboards is shown as a link, then hovering over that link will show you the name of the relevant Place of Interest if provided by the respective Local Guide, and selecting that link will take you to a screenshot with details of that POI.
Local Guides included in the leaderboards must check their entries for any errors. If you should find any errors or omissions, please add the details in a comment on this post. Regarding omissions, please note point 5 above.
The featured star photos shown in this post are those that best meet the requirements as detailed in the Local Guides, 2022 Star Photos post. For more details see here .

I can assure you that you are not alone @TravellerG . I for one am in the same club. But I’ve learned a lot from the star photos leaderboards and my star tracking, or as some prefer to refer this as photo charting, indicates improvements are coming

Congratulations @Mikeinthefalls for making it to the top of the Average Star Views/Day Leaderboard for December 2022 . However, something doesn’t look right to me with regards to this leaderboard. Can you see what I see?

@AdamGT the avg daily is quite distorted, mainly because I’m not on it.
Might be time to introduce a bot called Brutus who just threatens to pour water on Lucy and Dexter if they ever make mistakes.
