What an incredible journey and a moment of pride for every TRACian!

What an incredible community the “TRAC Community” you have built on Connect, dear @SholaIB!

I couldn’t agree more, unlike many other Local Guides communities, the TRAC Community truly goes beyond borders and breaks every kind of limitation or barrier. It’s a vibrant family of around 100 Local Guides from over 20 countries, proudly representing six continents: Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Australia, and Africa.

What began just two and a half years ago with a modest goal of mapping 3,000 roads on Google Maps has now grown into something extraordinary, reaching 306,401 roads as of May 31, 2025 (source: official TRAC data). What an incredible journey and a moment of pride for every TRACian.

And you didn’t stop there. In October 2025, you launched the sequel to TRAC: TORM (TRAC On Road Mappers) following its announcement in September. This month-long initiative was met with great enthusiasm, drawing participation from both long-time TRACians and new members alike. One of the key highlights was helping more participants gain access to Road Mapper, thanks to your continuous guidance and support, Shola. The results speak for themselves: 62,571 Km drawn and 76,883 challenges completed (source: official TORM data as of November 1, 2025), a truly remarkable achievement.

This milestone stands as a testament to the team’s passion, dedication, and the outstanding leadership at the helm. Your ability, Shola, to nurture a sense of unity, motivation, and shared purpose has clearly shaped TRAC into the thriving global community it is today.

Heartfelt congratulations to every member of this incredible community. Your collaboration, energy, and unwavering commitment make accomplishments like these possible. The collage in this post, featuring 51 amazing Local Guides, beautifully captures the spirit and brilliance of the TRAC Community shining in this spotlight.

This global group of Local Guides was established on 23rd March 2023. It was an idea that came into existence as a result of my drive for an accurate network of roads on Google Maps. Therefore, TRAC is a community of Google Maps enthusiasts that specializes mainly in adding new roads and editing old ones.

Thanks for this fantastic write-up @SholaIB, spotting the light on a group of LGs persevering against all odds. Glad to be part of a worthy cause.
