With your continued support, Season 2 of the Ghumakkad Gossip Meet-up series has gained remarkable momentum, now reaching Episode 10. We kicked off 2026 with engaging conversations, collaborative learning, and a shared sense of purpose, setting the stage for an inspiring year ahead.
On June 20, 2026, the episode titled “From Travel to Connect: Turning Experiences into Stories…Cont’d” brought together 34 participants from around the world, including the Meet-up Moderator, Guest Speaker, and Connect Moderators. The diverse participation, curiosity, and active engagement made the session truly vibrant and enriching, reflecting the growing strength of our global community.
Building on the earlier Episode 9 of the GG V2 series on this topic, this session was held to cover the remaining sections.
This session served as a meaningful return to the “Back to Basics” philosophy of being a Local Guide, highlighting the importance of traveling with purpose, capturing authentic experiences, and transforming those moments into impactful stories. It emphasized how thoughtful contributions can help create a more reliable, informative, and inclusive community for people exploring places around the world.
Under the theme “From Travel to Connect,” the discussion reflected on how being a Local Guide extends far beyond simply visiting new places. It is about the human connections we build, the experiences we share, and the stories that stay with us long after the journey concludes. Whether it is discovering hidden gems, interacting with local communities, or helping others through thoughtful and authentic contributions, every experience adds a unique perspective to a much larger shared narrative, one that enables people around the world to explore places with greater confidence, trust, and understanding.

Quick Introduction of the Attendees 
Participants introduced themselves by sharing their Name, City, Local Guide level, and Connect ID, which they were asked to enter in the chat box.
They were also kindly requested to join the virtual meet-up on time, as a gesture of respect towards the Guest Speaker and fellow participants who arrived punctually.
Improvements brought in 
Two key enhancements introduced in the GG V2 series:
1. Pre-Session Input Form
A newly designed process has been implemented to make the sessions more interactive and productive. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts, questions, or reflections in advance, enabling a well-structured and focused discussion during the meet-up, with the goal of achieving tangible outcomes through this form.
2. Real-Time Feedback System
A new feedback mechanism has been introduced to support continuous improvement. Unlike a complaint redressal system, it is designed to gather constructive feedback in real time, enabling timely adjustments and learning during or immediately after the session. Participants are encouraged to share their insights within 48 hours after the meet-up through a dedicated feedback form.
You may still find this feature enabled, but please note that the feedback cycle for the mentioned meet-up has officially closed. It remains accessible solely for demonstration purposes at this time.

Overview of the Meet-up 
The Meet-up Moderator (MM) shared the inspiration and intent behind launching the Ghumakkad Gossip Meet-up Series, detailing how the idea was conceived and outlining his vision for taking it forward for the benefit of the community.
Ghumakkad Gossip is a community-driven initiative, created by us, for us, and with us, aimed at building a more collaborative and cohesive platform for everyone to share and learn together.
Story behind the name
‘Ghumakkad’, a Hindi word meaning wanderer, and ‘Ghumakkad Gossip’ translates to Talk with Wanderer. The emphasis here is on the traveller spirit, not just being a tourist, reflecting the true essence of exploration and meaningful journeys.
The MM also outlined a few basic ground rules to ensure the meet-up remains productive and engaging for all participants.
Introduction of Guest Speaker 
As part of the “From Travel to Connect” theme, we were honored to host Meet-up Champion TravellerG (@TravellerG) once again, whose inspiring session showcased how travel experiences can be transformed into compelling stories that inform, inspire, and connect the Local Guides community.
Drawing from his extensive travel journey and community expertise, TravellerG shared practical insights on capturing meaningful moments, documenting authentic experiences, and crafting engaging Connect posts. Participants explored the complete storytelling process; from planning and observation during travel to structuring narratives, selecting visuals, publishing effectively, and fostering community engagement after posting.
Through real-world examples and valuable guidance, attendees gained a deeper understanding of how thoughtful storytelling can turn personal travel experiences into impactful contributions that enrich and strengthen the Connect community.
Gossip with Guest Speaker on the topic 
The session with our Guest Speaker commenced with an engaging and insightful discussion centered around how travel experiences can be transformed into well-structured, engaging, and easily discoverable stories that create meaningful value for the Local Guides Connect community.
To make the learning experience structured and practical, TravellerG divided the topic into four key segments that together cover the complete journey of creating impactful travel content on Connect. Building on Episode 9, where the first two segments were covered, this session focused on the third and fourth segments, offering valuable insights, practical examples, and effective storytelling techniques.
The four key segments discussed were:
- Before & During the Trip: Setting the Foundation
- Structuring Your Travel Post
- Publishing on Connect
- After Publishing: Engagement & Quality Check
TravellerG explained the publishing and post-engagement process in depth, sharing practical guidance on creating high-quality Connect posts. He highlighted the importance of selecting the right tag & category, using clear titles, adding an effective cover photo, structuring content with meaningful text and visuals, and reviewing posts carefully before publishing. He also emphasized post-publication best practices, including verifying visibility, actively engaging with comments, answering questions, giving kudos, and enriching discussions with additional photos and insights to maximize community interaction and content quality.
The session was highly interactive, with participants raising several practical questions related to travel storytelling and content creation on Connect. TravellerG addressed these queries in detail, sharing valuable insights on the responsible and effective use of AI as a supporting tool, the recommended specifications for cover and banner photos, and the importance of engaging with the community after publishing a post. He emphasized that meaningful interaction, timely responses, and continuous follow-up play a crucial role in increasing the value and reach of Connect contributions.
The discussion also reflected the strong sense of community and appreciation among participants. Several attendees, including @curatorofmemory, @Manishhh, @framesbysumedh, @KashifMisidia, @SharmaK, @Arati, @Anil6969 and @deepakjhic, expressed their heartfelt gratitude and admiration for TravellerG’s dedication, knowledge, and willingness to share his experiences. Deeply touched by these sentiments, TravellerG conveyed his sincere appreciation and thanked everyone for their kind words, active participation, and continued support, making the session both informative and emotionally enriching for all involved.
