LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 Friendliness : Poster/Art/Gender Neutral bathrooms - Pride with Local Guides ✨

Hy Local Guides, :rainbow_flag:

Pride month & Pride With Local Guides has started and it’s time to take up initiative to support local LGBTQ+ Friendly Businesses on Google Maps. As @Kumaarsantosh has stated how to edit LGBTQ+ friendly Attributes of a place on Google Maps, this post will be example on what posters, photos & signs to look for in businesses along with Gender Neutral bathrooms.

For me it’s always easy to identify local businesses is LGBTQ+ Friendly as I am a non-binary individual & shows my gender expression (external display of one’s gender towards the society through clothings, makeup, pronouns etc..). But I will make sure the business is completely inclusive by making sure the arts works & photos related to LGBTQ+ community & spectrum can be found or gender neutral bathrooms are available. If those are not present or available, I will ask the owner/staff to verify the friendliness to include it in my reviews.

Pride Month Poster/sign

I visited Touch of Ink Tattoo School & Studio, a wheelchair accessible :wheelchair_symbol: LGBTQ+ :rainbow_flag: friendly tattoo studio with Pet Friendliness :dog::cat:.

They made a poster for Pride Month immediately after I shared on LGBTQ+ friendly feature and how to enable it.

Photos/Art Work

Above photo was a gift to Jessa, owner of Eve’s Coffee from the attendees of the last meetup. They also made valuable arrangements for three meet-ups conducted there which in-turn got in touch with @SarathUpendran and @Gouri.PS.

They are also one of very few LGBTQ+ friendly coffee shops with gender neutral bathrooms.

Gender Neutral bathrooms

Left photo (unisex toilet) from FrenchMaké Caffé & Right (gender neutral bathroom) from Eve’s coffee can be pointed out to LGBTQ+ Friendliness.

In the left photo, you can see signs of only two genders but have a common & only one stall, which in turn can call it an unisex bathroom or gender neutral bathroom (also Transgender friendly bathroom).

Note : make sure unisex bathrooms doesn’t have different stalls inside for genders, as it completely neglect the use of gender neutral.

You can look for signs/photos/bathrooms like above to identify it as LGBTQ+ Friendliness and include it in your review and Support Local LGBTQ+ Friendly Businesses on Google Maps.
