Mapping Pune Museums to the Metro Lines

Pune metro is only two years old and we already have 50 km with 3 lines.

  1. Purple Line
  2. Aqua Line
  3. Line 3

Pune boasts nearly 42 museums ranging from Tribal to Aviation and History to Bird museums.

All museums are within walking distance, 1 km for me, from one of the metro stations.
I have tried to map the 42 museums to the 3 metro lines.

The locations are too crowded to show on the map.
So I decided to depict them Metro Line wise.

I have shared a list of these museums on Google Maps:

Pick your museum and look up the nearest metro station number to reach there.
Then walk a bit or take an auto rickshaw to reach the museum.

Here is the tally of Pune museums:

  1. Purple Line = 7 museums
  2. Aqua Line = 18 museums
  3. Line 3 = 18 museumes

This reminds me of Delhi.
I lived there five years ago, for five years.
I mapped the 44 museums in Delhi to its 9 metro lines.
The Delhi metro is 250+ km in length.

I have published line-wise museum lists on Google Maps as below:

Museums on Delhi Metro Violet Line = Total 18
Museums on Delhi Metro Yellow Line = Total 11
Museums on Delhi Metro Magenta Line = Total 04
Museums on Delhi Metro Blue Line = Total 05
Museums on Delhi Metro Red Line = Total 05
Museums on Delhi Metro Aqua Line = Total 01

I could visit 27 of these in Delhi but had to return to Pune.

Back to Pune, here are the museums, out of 42, that I have visited so far:

  1. RK Laxman Museum of the Common Man.
  2. Siv DnyanDarshan Musuem.
  3. Gram Sanskrut Museum.
  4. Twelve Jyotirlinga Miniature Museum.
  5. IUCCA Science Center.
  6. PCMC Science Park.
  7. Mahatma Phule Museum.
  8. Zero Stone.
  9. Pune Aviation Museum.
  10. Aga Khan Palace and Museum.
  11. Military Museum.
  12. Lal Mahal Palace and Museum.

Thank you, dear @Shaunak

The first metro in India started in Kolkata, so it would be a great tribute to map the museums and cultural spots in the city for easy access and reach for local guides :+1:

I am jealous @ShreyaMusings
We used to visit at least 1-2 museums every weekend.
Sad that the lockdown came in and we had to return home to Pune.
But I am determined to travel Delhi again and visit the remaining museums
