The Shree Someshwar Temple is a very old temple of the Hindu deity Lord Shiv in the Baner Road area of Pune.
In the Hindu belief system, Bramha, Vishnu, and Shiv are supreme beings.
Gods are various, for example, Pavan Dev is for God of the Winds, Agni Dev is the God of Fire, KamDev is the God of love and lust, and Indra Dev is the king of all Gods and additionally for rain, and so on…
There are several entrances to the temple among which the largest is in the Someshwar Wadi Gaon and the other is near the Ramnadi riverside, though it is very small.
The stone carvings and the temple architecture are marvelous and the walkways are neatly leveled for wase of movement.
There is also an accessible shoe rack and benches for resting within the temple premises.
The Deep-Stamb lamp pillar is the best part that I like about the temple. It is lit with traditional earthen lamps on festivals nights giving the whole place a graceful appearance.
Here’s the view of the Nandi who is the Vahan or carrier of Lord Shiv.
The flooring of the temple is richly decorated with marble motifs.
The ceiling of the temple is nicely decorated with peacock patterns and other animals.
Swastik - the symbol of prosperity and good charm is also visible.
This is the main GarbhGruha of the Someshwar temple.
The place has a nicely maintained garden which can be also used as a meditation place.
I also noticed that recently they installed a cool drinking water dispenser and a hand wash tank with a steel sink that are accessible.
The temple also has accessible parking which is spacious.
Accessibility
The entire premises of the temple are accessible, and a detailed report can be read in this post.
