Celebrate Recycling Week with Me ♻️✨

Hy Local Guides, :recycling_symbol:

This Recycling Week ♻️ (2025-11-09T18:30:00Z2025-11-15T18:30:00Z) is a perfect time to celebrate the collection efforts of local guides who contributed towards recycling on Google Maps and inspired the Connect community. This combination of community with addition of recycling bins on Google Maps is helping to highlight sustainable practices from celebrating sustainability day to editing sustainablilty attributes on Google Maps.

Sustainable Actions from the Community :sparkles:

Our Local Guides community always champion :trophy: sustainability with Google’s effort on connecting users to supporting businesses.

How can we celebrate this week as a local guide?

  1. Visit a local business near you and if they have a recycling method :recycling_symbol:; edit sustainablilty attributes to Google Maps.
  2. Create a list :page_with_curl: for recycling drop off locations and share it with fellow local guides, friends and families.
  3. Review :writing_hand: a local eco conscious business by adding any recyclable methods they have or use any recycled products.

Join in for the week celebration and take a moment to promote sustainability through recycling.

Do you add any recycling waste bins or drop off locations on Google Maps? Share the story in the comments behind adding those to inspire the community.

A wonderful reminder for all of us to act responsibly and mindfully toward nurturing an eco-friendly environment.

Sustainability is not just a choice and/or not just a tag, it’s a shared responsibility. The small, conscious steps we take today will not only make our present more livable but will also serve as the most valuable gift we can leave behind for the generations to come, a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable world.

Beautifully conceived post, dear @Rahul001, a true call to action for each of us to contribute toward a better tomorrow.:green_heart:

Thanks for a fabulous post and for mentioning my previous contributions in the form of a list, dear @Rahul001

However, all of my additions of recycling plants are showing as ‘pending’ on Google Maps. This is so discouraging.

However, I continued to spot and capture recycling bins at various places and share them here to showcase their variety and ingenuity.

  1. Pune Airport
Nice illustration with photos showing what goes in which compartment.

  1. Google Campus in Bengaluru
This shows an eaten apple - to highlight throwing the leftover here - genius :+1:
