As we build a global community that celebrates diversity and inclusion, join me in celebrating Lesbian Visibility Week. This week is a vital movement to spotlight, celebrate & empower lesbian women and non-binary individual & creating a stronger sense of belonging for individuals everywhere. As Local Guides, we have a unique platform to make our spaces - both digital & physical - more welcoming, vibrant & safe for everyone. From Europe to the USA, all the way to Japan and right here in our vibrant local neighborhoods, we are making a difference across the globe.
This journey of advocacy continues by building on previous discussions regarding fostering inclusivity during International Lesbian Day and how we can be better allies during International Transgender
Day of Visibility. Letโs carry that same spirit of advocacy into this week!
Lesbian Visibility Week (running annually from April 20th โ26th) is a vital global movement to celebrate & empower lesbian community. To be a lesbian means to be a woman or a non-binary person, who is attracted to women/non-binary people. It is a powerful identity rooted in love, community & history. This week is a time to amplify the voices of a community that is often overlooked. As part of this, letโs put a special focus on the entrepreneurs who make our communities stronger. When we take the time to find and support businesses that are LGBTQ+
owned or pub (thank you @Manishhh for sharing his favourite inclusive space) that welcomes inclusively, we arenโt just exploring; we are actively helping to create safer, more visible spaces for everyone. These businesses are essential cornerstones of our neighborhoods, providing safe havens & fostering a sense of community for those who live there and those who visit.
