[DEEP JAPAN] #01 Autumn leaves in Kyoto "Higashi-yama" district

Kyoto has mountains in the east, west and the north🏞 They are called "Higashi-yama(east)" "Nishi-yama(west)" "Kita-yama(north)" respectively. Among them, "Higashiyama" district is the most famous place in sightseeing spots in Kyoto⛩🏯🍁

 

On Higashiyama there are "Kiyomizu-dera" "Gion" "Ninen-zaka" "Yasaka" and so on. Have you heard of it once? I will introduce famous autumn leaves spot at Higashiyama🍂🍁

This is "Nanzen-ji"🏯 I've already introduced it at 360 degrees meet-up. It is a very popular temple because you can see the autumn leaves for free😃 Most of Kyoto's autumn leaves spots are charged😑

There is a huge gate called "San-mon"🏯 This gate means the mental task that people overcome. It is also a famous place for saying that Japan's most famous bandit "Ishikawa Goemon" is "superb view!"😎

 

On the site of Nanzenji, there is a waterway of western architecture built in 1888🌉

In the Japanese garden of "Tenju-an" next to it, autumn leaves illumination at night is held🍂🍁

There is a temple called "Eikan-do" on the north side of Nanzenji🏯 one of the most popular autumnal leaves gardens for Japanese people. We will have to wait an hour until we enter. It is a very large Japanese garden😃

You can enjoy Japanese snack at a traditional Japanese tea shop🍡🍵

 

Walk further north, there is a sidewalk called "Tetsugaku no michi (The Way of Philosophy)"🛤 It is so called because old Japanese philosophers and literary people lived in the neighborhood🤔 Go north and reach "Ginkaku-ji"🏯
