Happy International Women’s Day to all the incredible women in our community and around the world! Today is even more special because we are also celebrating the 1-year anniversary of the Women & Allied Series — a journey that began with a simple idea: to highlight, celebrate, and support the inspiring women who make our global community stronger every day. Thank you to the women community for ensuring the series thrives and special thanks to the amazing Google Team - @Kristen_NYC , @Latika_Malhotra , @Julie_A , @DeniGu and everyone who supported this initiative so far !!! We wouldn’t have reached so far without your love and support !

Over the past year, we’ve heard powerful stories from women across different countries — women who map their cities, support local businesses, advocate for accessibility, and uplift their communities through small but meaningful contributions. Every story reminded us of one beautiful truth: when women support each other, the impact travels far beyond borders. No matter where we live, we are connected by our shared purpose of creating a more inclusive and supportive world. When women come together, magic happens and our first ever ‘Women and allies meet-up’ last year just proved that ! To continue this journey, I invite you all to participate in the Support Women-Owned Businesses Challenge. By adding reviews, photos, creating local women-owned businesses lists and doing updates for women-owned businesses on Maps, you help them gain visibility and recognition. And yes — participants can also earn special badges for supporting women businesses! .Kindly read the post by @Julie_A to know more about how you can get the badges. Let’s use the power of Maps to celebrate and uplift women entrepreneurs everywhere.

I would also love for you to join our upcoming meetup on 14th March, where we’ll talk about How we as Local Guides can ensure that our contributions help the women and women-owned businesses in our communities, share experiences, and explore how we can empower more women to contribute as Local Guides. The meet-up is open to all and I request each one of you to join if time permits. Together, we can continue building a world where women inspire, support, and stand for one another.
