When women come together, magic happens — and our Bengaluru women and allied -only mega meetup on September 19 proved just that! ![]()
It was a beautiful morning filled with excitement and laughter as our women special bus arrived to pick us up. We sang, danced, and celebrated sisterhood all the way to the Google office, where a warm welcome awaited us at the charming Craft Café — specially set up for our event.
Around 25 incredible women Local Guides joined the meetup, eager to connect and share their stories. After a round of introductions, we kicked off our breakfast and “Wander Woman” conversations, where each group discussed thought-provoking topics like solo travel, exploring one’s own city, and feeling brave in unfamiliar places. These conversations sparked powerful reflections and ideas on how we, as women, can help make Maps even more inclusive and accessible.
We were joined by Googlers @Latika_Malhotra and @TinaWill , who shared insights into new and upcoming safety features for women in Google Maps — a truly inspiring session! Adding to the fun, Tina graciously participated in a saree-draping session and looked stunning as she wore it for the rest of the event. Huge thanks to @Kristen_NYC , @Julie_A and the Google team for hosting us with delicious, healthy breakfast and helping us create unforgettable memories.
A big shout-out to all the attendees for their enthusiasm and participation for making this event a successful one ! Without you all nothing would have been possible ! Also I would like to thank all my fellow men & other Local Guides who equally supported and encouraged us to enjoy our celebrations !
As we closed the event, we celebrated with a gift exchange, where every woman brought a present sourced from women-owned businesses, symbolizing our commitment to uplifting one another. The day ended with heartfelt smiles, thoughtful conversations, and a collective promise to continue organizing more women-led meetups that strengthen our community. ![]()
