Today I decided to explore the end of my valley, Val Casies, and after 7 km and 800 m slope i reached the border with Austria.
Obviously i flow my drone, for a quick fly back and an exploration of the border peaks.
That's what I love mostly in mountaineering: the opportunity to be really ALONE
The mountains in that area are rich of iron, so when the drone was behind one of them, at around 2700 m, i completely lost connection.
I tried for 5 minutes to elevate the antennas, and get back connected, but I was not succesful.
After some minutes the drone was completely out of energy, and started landing... on the other side of the mountain!
So I had to climb that peak, and try to find the drone...
In the image you can also see old Italian barracks for border troops.
I was lucky enough, the drone landed safely on a snow field, on the Austrian side of the mountain!
Back in my hands without any damage!
All the trek required around 4 hours, not so much, including the issue with the drone.
But now you can enjoy this mini virtual tour between two countries (arrows will appear in few hours)

Hello @LucioV!
Thank you for sharing this unseen world! I really love all about the mountains, you just showing another way to appreciate them. This must be challenging! And we know that piloting a drone is no easy task. Looking forward your next exploration, and stay safe, Dude!
