Regional Google Local Guides Summits

I was a part of the last year's Google Local Guides Summit and it was an amazing experience. I learnt a lot and get to know people around the globe. What I loved most is, I found life long friends who will be there for you from around the world.

As I noticed this will only provide an opportunity to 150 local guides(in 2017 edition) from around the world. It will be difficult to provide a chance for lots of local guides who are contributing to the Google Maps to help others. I saw some local guides had issues in getting visa to USA last year

What I am suggesting is to have few regional summits before or after the main summit. For example an Asian-Pacific and European summits would be ideal. This will provide chance to more local guides to participate and get a recognition for their contribution.

This would be similar to the TC summits. They alternate, one in the USA, then regional. The USA based summits are two years apart.

I like this idea. In fact, I've suggested this in the past, and also during the Summit 17 post survey. Unfortunately, it didn't make it for this year's Summit, but hopefully it can be considered for future Summits.

Yes, I too have contributed to this idea on a couple of occasions.

The worldwide summits can be held every two years while the four regional summits can be held yearly except the year of the worldwide event.

Industry Vendors from Hospitality, Technology, Arts and Science, Travel, Food, etc. can apply to be invited to sponsor our summits.

It would be a congress of the very best and most prolific Google Maps writers and photographers in each region.

These can be held in public venues such as Gardens, Museums, Parks, etc.  It would be a win win for all participants.

The Google Tokyo office will realize this against the Japanese guide on August.
The Tokyo office made an aggressive decision.
I am planning to share that wonderful experience with all of you.

#Let's introduce your Japan with #DeepJapan hashtag. You will discover Japanese background stories.

@Atsukot This is great and I am glad the Idea Exchange provided this opportunity to share the idea. Now, it is not only sharing the idea,  We now know Google keeps on working to implement our ideas.

This will provide more people to participate in Google hosted events.  I am glad for all the Local Guides around the world.

I already went through two posts.

Thank you for the everyone supported this idea.
