Add avoid Small & Narrow roads for Navigation settings

The idea is to add another extra option in Google Maps navigation settings, so that the route can avoid small & narrow roads during the journey

This idea is prompted by many situations where road users who are driving larger sized vehicles not to get caught going through roads they are not supposed to go through. Although it's quite clear that the vehicle mode is only for 4 wheeler cars only. Also possibly a clearer indication that the navigation is only for cars, and not guaranteed for larger vehicles.

Just recently someplace in South India, 2 gas tankers got stuck for hours going through some small village road while navigating with Google Maps. Just sharing.

Google maps es una herramienta muy útil a la hora de conducir y claramente a la hora de ir por lugares que no conocemos, sin embargo en ocasiones surgen cambios en las rutas (arreglos en la calle y cierre de esta misma, cambios en el 'sentido' o dirección de la vía o incluso cierre de los accesos o giros a otras vias) Ejemplo 1 : en bogota la cll 63 en sentido oriente-occidente en el tramo de la Av boyacá está totalmente bloqueado por la construcción del puente....y el Google maps me hizo dar una vuelta en la que perdi 45 minutos, pudiendo tomar una ruta alterna más rápida, y sin posibilidad de ubicar en el mapa que la herramienta no envié a más usuarios por este camino.

Ejm 2: En engativa pueblo existe una sola salida hacia la cll 63, es doble via...sin embargo de 6-9 AM está vía es exclusivamente de salida y no se puede ingresar a Engativá por esta misma, por el contrario hay que dar una pequeña vuelta e ingresar por otra vía de solo entrada....sin embargo el Google maps no lo sabe y utiliza la misma entrada como si siempre se pudiera, haciendo que los conductores se pierdan y entren a una Contravía lo que puede ocasionar accidentes.

el Google maps se aferra a ir por una vía en la cual no se puede tránsitar.

Así que con la ayuda de los usuarios se ahorran trabajo para poder estar actualizados, prestar un excelente servicio sin tener que estar revisando todas las calles, todos los meses para actualizarse (tarea imposible).

La app me gusta muchísimo, siempre la uso..así que sería mejor arreglar este punto.

Some time before two heavy petrol truk trapped a narrow road in kerala(india)reason is google map .its a big news in news paper they have negative publicity of google map.that for google map should be sure which vehicle use the customer and vehicle spesifications .The lenth and width of vehicles and to see the map of the route . Some time find the fastest route that become a big traps some time road will high traffic, bad condition, narrow width & electricity line cable tha all details show the on the route map.

It is not just BIG trucks we are talking about. Google has sent me several times into the center of old European towns that are impossible to navigate with a normal car. Of course, the moment you get stuck, it is impossible to turn the car around and back up all the way to freedom.

I have been there and I have done that 😉

In addition, I like to see extra information related to parking garages. My mini campervan is 2 meters high. It would be nice if I could check the height allowance of a underground parking before I actually have to "back up".

in reality, every vehicle does not always have the same size. we really know the types of vehicles, sometimes there are very slim and very large. as well as the width of the road, so far not all roads seem standard can be passed by the car. this will be a bit complicated to realize but it seems to be very useful especially reducing congestion. so I have a suggestion for warning how many meters wide the road is so that no vehicles are trapped because the road is too narrow to pass.

Won't the 'two-wheeler' navigation mode suffice? Using that mode implies that the roads may be narrower?

We need more details to better understand your suggestion.

How do you imagine the width of the road be visualised on Google Maps? Do you want to have this as an additional functionality? Please unclude a screenshot if possible.

Most of the people travel using google map.

Long heavy transport vehicles also using google map, they are selecting car direction option in google map, so sometimes it will  be failed. Heavy vehicle a cannot travel on that root.

May be that is small road or else.

So, a special option needs for heavy vehicles.
