Wonder of Waterfalls: Abbey Waterfall

Hello Friends,

Welcome to my brand-new series on Wonder of Waterfalls. In this series I will take you through couple of waterfalls from our country India as well as from outside India. The coverage is confined to the places I have visited on my own.

This is a series and not the Challenge but I encourage you all to share your experiences and interesting stories of waterfalls in the comment box below.

In this series I will take you first through one of the famous tourist attractions Abbey Waterfall, Madekeri, Karnataka, India. This waterfall is also known by the name Abbi Falls and Abbey Falls. There is a nominal price for entry ticket. Camera is allowed free of cost. Paid parking space is available.

One has to walk down couple of stairs from the entrance to see the great Abbey Waterfall. On the way, one can enjoy the barricaded coffee plantations on the right side. Also, there are some seating arrangements on the way to take rest and enjoy the beauty of nature in peace.

The waterfall is not so high but it is surrounded by the lush greeneries adding to its beauty. This is a perfect place for photography.

One can not reach near to the waterfall as it is not safe. There is an old signage board also placed on which ‘Danger Spot’ is mentioned to warn the vistors not to cross the bridge.

If you are in Coorg or nearby place, this is a must to visit waterfall.

Triberg Waterfall in the Black Forest! Astonishing! Its spread over quite a significant area.

I have gone through some of the reviews[1] as well and seems people who have visited there enjoyed a lot. Good place for kids too. Saw a picture where a squirrel was very close to the visitor. It must be quite thrilling.

Thanks for sharing the global perspective @Annaelisa. Have you visited this place? Next time when you go there please take some pics and video and share with the community and on the Maps. That will be great.

Thank you so much for appreciating the nature and its beauty.
