Supporting Small Businesses: Tea Stall

Hello Friends,

Once again, I intend to re-emphasize the way we Support Small Businesses as a Local Guide. It is our social and moral responsibility to support small businesses through the use of Google Maps.

In my first post in this series of Supporting Small Businesses I have explained as what sort of small businesses we can support and how to support them.

What

and How

I used to be a frequent visitor of Pandey Tea Stall during pre and post Covid-19 era.

I used to take many photos and cherish memories; and to re-live the memories recently I visited this place again. I found the same warmth and welcoming nature of Pandey Ji. I love to listen to his conversation on various topics. Usually he is not out-spoken but if he finds someone sharing his wave length of imagination, he is unstoppable. I just love his talk.

This visit of mine compelled me to write review on Maps for his shop followed by this post on Connect which I also dedicate to @TusharSuradkar for Chai Pe Charcha.

Keep building a well-informed community stronger :muscle: together.

Stay Happy, Stay Healthy!

JAI HO!!!

Fabulous post @Kumaarsantosh :+1:
I enjoyed reading through the bulleted checklist and I am sure local guides will find it handy and immensely helpful when they venture out exploring and supporting small businesses around them.

Besides, the tea stalls and watch repair shops, another category of shops that is found plentiful in India are the Paan Shops - these are found at every few hundred feet on every street in India, but sadly go undocumented on Google Maps.

I eat Paan regularly at these small businesses and thought, it could be a good way to support them by adding them to Google Maps regularly.

Totally in agreement with you @TusharSuradkar on Paan shop. I have couple of them from the past and will share once I find them.

They are less talked about but some of them have great impact to the society. In India, mostly the Paan shop is either there beside every Tea stall or it is the combined shop (Tea stall and Paan shop together).

Actually, a separate post can be written on Paan, its benefits linked with Paan shop on Google maps.

Happy to know that you are a Paan lover. Occasionally, I too eat. :grinning:

Great post to support small businesses @Kumaarsantosh .
Your review is so great that you put all valuable information like accessibility and payment methods!

For these, @Globe_trotter_Ish is started a meet-up series called handmade hertiage series .

As @TusharSuradkar’s Talk over Tea, we can put forward how to support small businesses in field of tea and have a conversation!

Great post @Kumaarsantosh Your inputs on how to help small businesses is really useful and I use this as my reference whenever I visit local tea stalls and other such establishments. Your chai pe charcha story is inspiring. Sometimes great conversation can happen with the tea stall owner over unlimited cups or kulhads of tea. Thank you for sharing.
