Hey everyone! As the largest and most active community in the world, the India Local Guides family is long overdue for a massive celebration. We are beyond excited to unofficially announce the Namaste India: Local Guides Summit ‘26!
Here are the quick details so you can mark your calendars:
We are currently finalizing an action-packed weekend dedicated to what we do best: connecting, learning, and improving the map. A detailed 2-day itinerary will be shared later, but you can definitely look forward to mapping walks, knowledge-sharing sessions, fun activities, awards, and plenty of time to catch up with incredible contributors from across the country and hopefully you!
Please note: Expenses, travel, and accommodation are paid for and organized by the attendees themselves.
For now, we just want you to save the date! Please let us know in the comments if you are interested in joining us in Delhi—this will help us gauge the headcount before we release the official registration link.
We’re also planning a dedicated space for interested Local Guides who would like to volunteer and contribute to making this event a success. If you’d like to be part of it, please let us know in the comments—we’d truly appreciate your support!
Get ready for many fun activities, exciting interactions, and memorable experiences throughout the event!
Help us spread the word, and stay tuned for the full schedule soon!
See you in Delhi!
India Local Guides Community
संगच्छध्वं, संवदध्वं Come together, communicate together!
This is not just another event announcement — it’s something we’ve been passionately building for the entire community. Being part of the hosting team for the Namaste India Local Guides Summit 2026, I can confidently say that this is going to be one of the most meaningful gatherings for Indian Local Guides.
From our experience hosting and contributing to multiple meetups across India, one thing is clear — community grows when people come together, share stories, and learn from each other. That’s exactly what we are aiming to create here. Events like these go beyond networking; they create real connections, mentorship, and long-term impact within the ecosystem .
We are putting a lot of focus on:
Creating a welcoming space for both new and experienced Local Guides
Encouraging knowledge sharing, storytelling, and real-world impact
Showcasing the diversity, culture, and strength of the Indian community
For many, this won’t just be a summit — it will be a memory, a turning point, or even the beginning of their journey in the Local Guides program.
Personally, I’m super excited to meet everyone, exchange ideas, and build something even bigger together
Let’s make this summit not just successful, but unforgettable.
This is such a proud moment for all of us in the India Local Guides community.
A celebration like this has been long overdue—super Happy for Namaste India - Local Guides Summit ‘26!
Thanks @NareshDarji bhai for summit 26 Announcement
Finally, it’s happening.
And it already feels like something special.
What I really like is the clarity and intent—“connecting, learning, and improving the map” keeps the focus exactly where it should be. And the spirit of “Come together, communicate together” fits perfectly with what this community stands for.
The true value lies in the combination of mapping walks, knowledge exchange, and simply meeting other contributors in person. Often, you remember those conversations more than the event itself.
It’s also encouraging to see the transparency in logistics and the community-led nature of the project. Sets the right expectations from the start.
Count me in—this is already shaping up to be an impactful and memorable event.
Thank you, @NareshDarji ji, for this exciting update.
This is wonderful news for the India Local Guides community.
I am happy to see this event happening in Delhi. I am interested in joining and would love to meet fellow Local Guides, learn new things, and contribute more to Google Maps. Wishing the team all the best for the planning. The cover photo looks stunning, and I really like it.
As one of the co-organizers of the prestigious Asia One Summit 2019, I wish all the success to Namaste India 2026 event. May it exceed the grandeur of its precursor and emerge as a staple, flagship Local Guides meetup that unites Indian local guides contributors from all parts of the country.
I would like to see every sub community in India come together and pose for a legendary headshot at the podium, as the Indian community are the major contributors in both Google Maps and Local Guides Connect Forum!
Best wishes to the organizing team. Feel free to reach out for any support
Super excited to meet all our local guides across India and globe. I have attended some virtual meetup which are always joyful, helpful and lots of learning. I am looking forward for this . I am also happy to join with the local guide connect Thanks for this amazing news . I think I will gradually learn to use the local guide connect app. This is the first time I am writing or replying to a post I think. Small steps big goals with everyone together.
Fantastic!! I was waiting for such meetup desperately. I believe we’ll have lots of fun and learnings together. Thanks for sharing @NareshDarji . I would love to join this event.
