Recap: [In-Person] India, November 24, Pune's Heritage walk and Foodie Adventure

On November 24th, I along with @dpalash2205 had privilege of hosting our first google local guide meetup at National War Memorial Southern Command and it turned out to be unforgettable experience.

We arrived at the venue at 11am and soon everyone joined us. After purchasing the tickets we explored the museum, which beautifully showcases the achievements of the southern command wing.

From ammunition and uniforms to photo gallaries, military tanks, the MIG23BN used in kargil war and the vijayanta mbt the displays were inspiring and educational.

We then enjoyed a fun paintball activity and had an online google meet session with other local guides.
The museum’s souvenir shop was a treat, where we picked fridge magnets, badges and souvenirs.

We wrapped up the museum tour with a quiz session in the garden nearby. Took group pictures near clock tower with banners and exchanged the badges and stickers.

Later we headed to Cream Craver for some delicious food including bombay pav bhaji and strawberry cream with icecream.

The day was made even more special when @TusharSuradkar sir presented me with thoughtful appreciation card. And @NERKARAMIT sir gave me a lovely gift for hosting my first meetup.

It was an incredible experience and i am grateful to everyone who joined @AjitThite @TusharSuradkar @ShubhamWaman @Rushikesh_joshi @Kuldip_Patil @NERKARAMIT and everyone who joined online

Here’s to many more meetups in the future!

The meetup of India local guides in Pune on 24 November 2024 was another fun-filled day with joy, laughter, games, quizzes, food, drink, sharing Google Maps tips & tricks, and more and more discussions about how awesome or awful some of the new Connect features are.

The weather was perfect in Pune for a get-together and will remain pleasant for the next 6 months.

Early birds arrived and quickly got down to chat, small talk, and guiding new local guides to reach the venue using Google Maps.

After that people got busy with various things.
@dpalash2205 did the Youtube LIVE of the event, @AjitThite spent most of the time interacting with people joining online via Google Meet, and @NERKARAMIT and others tried hands at paintball.

We visited the various galleries of the War Memorial Museum in Pune that exhibited primarily decommissioned tanks, ammunition, aircraft, and various such battle-related exhibits.

After this, we visited the Cream Cravers food joint nearby and enjoyed lip-smacking Pav-Bhaji :yum: and fresh Strawberry juice with cream :strawberry:

Amit Nerkar presented @DurgaK03 with a nice gift for hosting her first meetup.

I presented Durga a thank you + appreciation card for hosting a memorable meetup wonderfully and elegantly.

We displayed our badges, cards, and stickers from the previous meetups in the backdrop of a clock tower nearby.

An integral part of meetups of local guides in India, this meetup saw local guides exchanging new cards, badges, and stickers…

Local Guides will meet again next to celebrate the One Year of Meetups in Pune on 22 December 2024.

Hello dear friend, Mohan…
You have not used the “Reply” option which automatically TAGS the LG.
But if you are trying from the main post, then you should used the “@” before the username to tag.

Hope you got my point…

Great concept @TusharSuradkar, dada I have one more suggestion: if you create your name on the card using a digital signature at the CM level and distribute it to every host of a meetup across India, it will be the greatest achievement of the local guide community.
