What happens at ConnectLIVE?
ConnectLIVE is an invite-only event that brings together the Local Guides community with Google product teams. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from Google about the future of Maps, preview unreleased features, and share valuable feedback to influence product roadmaps. Cconnect and celebrate with Local Guides like you—contributors passionate about sharing their knowledge and discoveries to help millions of people navigate the world.
Throughout the event, you’ll have opportunities for networking, workshops, presentations, and discussions with other Local Guides and Google teams.
When do applications close?
Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
When will the ConnectLIVE events take place?
Events are currently scheduled for May, July & October 2026. We’ll share the exact dates with invited guests in early 2026.
Where will the ConnectLIVE events take place?
We’ll be hosting ConnectLIVE in three new cities in 2026 - one for Local Guides in Europe, Middle East & Africa, one for those in the Asia-Pacific region and an event for Local Guides from North, Central, and South America. We’ll share more details with invited guests in early 2026.
Can I choose which event I attend?
To ensure these events are impactful and efficient and so that we can bring as many Local Guides together as possible, we cannot accept requests for specific locations.
Who is eligible to attend a Local Guides event?
Events are for active members of the Local Guides community who regularly share helpful, relevant, and accurate information on Maps.
Attendees must be at least a Level 5 Local Guide, 18 years of age and be opted-in to receive Local Guides Rewards emails.
What are the selection criteria?
While there is no one thing you can do to guarantee an invitation to ConnectLIVE or other Local Guides events, here are some things that we do look for:
- Consistently share high quality information on Maps
- Share your discoveries, tips and tricks and celebrate the Local Guides community on Connect
- Participate in Connect challenges, community groups and initiatives
- Build your local community through offline activities
Can I share this with Local Guides who are not active on Connect?
Yes, please do! If there are Local Guides who are participating in, or leading community activities outside of Connect, we’d love to hear from them.
Do I have to be active on Connect to attend a ConnectLIVE event?
Participation on Connect is not required, but ConnectLIVE is meant for those who are passionate about the Local Guides community so please be sure to share details about how you participate in the Local Guides community outside of the Connect forum.
If I attended ConnectLIVE in 2025, am I eligible to attend in 2026?
Attending a previous event neither guarantees nor disqualifies you from being eligible to attend a ConnectLIVE event in 2026.
Please keep in mind that space at events is limited and we aim to have a good mix of new and veteran participants from a variety of communities.
What happens after I submit the form?
Once you submit the form, you’ll receive an email confirmation from Google Events (no-reply-eventsatgoogle@google.com). If you need to edit your form, you can do so until the form closes on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Will you review every submission
We will consider every complete application from eligible Local Guides. To help us learn more about you, please ensure your submission is complete (including a working link to your Maps profile) and that you are at least a Level 5 Local Guide.
When will selected applicants be notified?
Selected guests will receive a save the date email in early February 2026 with formal invitations to follow. Keep an eye on your inbox for emails from Google Events (no-reply-eventsatgoogle@google.com).
Will I be told if I haven’t been selected?
Yes, all applicants will receive a notification regarding their application status. This email will confirm if you have been selected, if we are unable to offer you a spot, or if you have been placed on our waitlist for potential openings closer to the event date. Be on the lookout for an email from Google Events (no-reply-eventsatgoogle@google.com) in early February 2026.
Must I speak English to attend a ConnectLIVE event?
The majority of presentations and workshops will be presented in English. While fluency is not required, being comfortable with conversational English will help you get the most out of the experience.
That said, we are a global community! We are actively exploring options for translation to make the content as accessible as possible. We will update selected attendees on available language support closer to the event.
We’ll also look to attendees to support one another— if you’re comfortable with multiple languages, please let us know in the form.
