Namskar…
My all Local Guides community…
I am Mumbai’s (India) Local Guide, Shruti, at Level 10.
Firstly, I would like to share my experience of our Meet-up with some of the fellow LGs & also share few moments which I captured with my mobile, with you all.
It all started, when I visited a place called Global Vipasana Pagoda (Borivali W., Mumbai, Maharashtra, India). My Connect Live application post is also dedicated to this place only – It is all about Meditation & architecture. You must visit this place – it is very peaceful. Being my all-time favourite place, I choose this place for my first meet-up -
My recap post, Lets Explore Pagoda Recap is here.
I would also like to share my all other meetup post:
- Empowered women of Mumbai
Recap: - SPACE Exhibition Photo walk
Recap: - Meet the Real Heros of India in Mumbai
Recap: - Mumbais Versova fish Festival
- Indian Heritage Walk 2 Mumbai
While I was taking photos of this place, I got notification from Google maps for sharing those photos on Google Maps – I was surprised!! I uploaded many photos. From time to time, Google sent me mails and encouraged me. I started exploring Google maps, almost every day. I view Google Maps in satellite mode as it gives me more detailed idea, before zooming a particular area. Even now, I continue, exploring interior and local places in Maps, where I find that they lack sufficient info, photos, contact details, specially name translation and many other information – I started editing many spams too.
At initial stage, while contributing in Google maps, I made few mistakes, which I realised and improved myself, later. I went ahead in Google maps by contributing, applying corrections and edits, etc., thinking that it will also be a social help and obviously it’s going to be really very helpful for people who are new to this place.
While hosting and attending meet-ups, I explored my neighbourhood with different perspective and I was lucky to find many hidden places through Google maps.
Google’s Local Guides are here to provide information to end user in detail and meet-ups are for sharing knowledge as well as knowing more people in the group. And through LG Connect, we meet many global LGs to share our knowledge & build a stronger Community.
While interacting with members of Social Media, I got chances to improve my English, which gifted me confidence. These helped me in the overall growth of my personality and social identity, as Google Local Guide.
Today, I am proud to introduce myself as a dedicated Mumbai’s Local Guide…
I thank all LGs & Moderators for all the helps you gave me…
While editing the Google map wishlist for application, it got deleted, Now I’m making new list for the hidden places which I wish to visit more visitors…
sincerely,
your LG friend,
Shruti…
