Chai Pe Charcha 🫖 & Support Eco-friendly Businesses ♻️

Hy Local Guides, :recycling_symbol::teapot:

As part of @TusharSuradkar’s Chai Pe Charcha & support local Eco friendly business, I am glad to discuss another outlet of Chai Kaari which is more eco-friendly with Wheelchair Accessible :wheelchair_symbol: features and Pet Friendliness :dog::cat:.

Chai Kaari, a Cafe centred around chai & idli has various outlets in Trivandrum. As said in a previous post of Chai Kaari with @KetanChhaniyara’s Ditch the Plastic Spoons Challenge, the outlet has eco-friendly options such as wooden spoons & steel cups for chai.

This outlet of Chai Kaari has more eco-friendly options and accessibility with pets allowed in self service areas.

What eco-friendly features do they have?

  1. Having a biodegradable cover bag (white cover shown in above image) for Takeaways.
  2. Wooden spoons :spoon: for food, steel cups :teacup_without_handle: for chai & drinks and Banana leaves for food.
  3. Paper carrying bags for Takeaways.
  4. Chai bags for Takeaways (Removable Plastic used in it is recycled one and it can be reused by customers in their home to seal plastic or paper grocery bags).

They also made the self service area specifically for wheelchair accessibility :wheelchair_symbol: with seatings options and entrance and hand washable areas. They are also LGBTQ+ :rainbow_flag: Friendly.

Here’s my review for them.

Share your local eco friendly chai shops which use paper cups or steel cups to participate in Chai Pe Charcha & Support Local ECO Friendly Businesses.

The fact that even the removable plastic is recycled and reusable is fantastic! :ok_hand:

I remember Chai Kaari and a similarly named tea shop in Pune
Nice to locate another branch @Rahul001

Now that the rains are pouring, it is a good reminder to go out to have Chai :+1:

This place uses eco-friendly cutlery, which is heartening.

Throw-away plastics are a disaster and a bad habit to inculcate, besides the damage they cause to our surroundings.

Reuse, Recylce, Repurpose should be our mantra :recycling_symbol:

Monsoon is here and perfect day to have chai.
Also Chai shops are one of few shops that rarely uses plastics : most of all chai shops either uses glass or paper cups with having paper issues or banana leaves as plates.
We can also see your Chai Pe Charcha is going for a Challenge that are sustainable also.
