The Concert for Bangladesh (by George Harrison)
Event was organised by former Beatles lead guitarist George Harrison and Indian sitar master Ravi Shankar. Concerts were held at 2:30 and 8:00 pm on Sunday, 1 August 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Total 40,000 people were attended and raised close to US$250,000 for Bangladesh relief, which was administered by UNICEF. For details visit here....! Let's see a sculptor view of George Harrison... from that garden...!

I was younger than now, on 1971, @Kamalhasnainee, but I can remember of it. In fact was one of the first international concert that I have seen, on the Italian TV.

Wow great to know! $250,000 raised by 40,000 people that's absolutely incredible especially for the time period. You here about events these days raising $100,000 with the assistance of social media, but in 1971 to raise that long before the internet is something HUGE!
@Kamalhasnainee thank you for sharing 🙂
