"Text/Post has been Edited" Information

We know that we could edit our post and reply here in Connect to add (or fix) some information.

The problem is after the text has been edited, there's no information that showing that the text has been edited, that it's no longer the original text.

By the absence of this information, we could easily get lost, out of context, about the post we've read initially.

It would be no problem if the author edit his/her text because of typos. But it would be problematic if the author has edit (change) the whole text completely. Our reply to the initial post would be easily out of context when we read it again after it has been edited.

It's so confusing when we remember write a reply about A, but now when we read it again some times later the post is discussing about B, just to realized that it has been edited (completely) by the author.

So my idea is: Connect should automatically add information about the editing status of a post/reply if the post has been edited by the author.

I know that in Idea Exchange board there's an added information if the post/reply has been edited, but not in other board.

Thanks.

Best regards,

@iorikun301

I agree with you, @iorikun301 .

Years ago this information was available, exactly like it is in this board (idea exchange), then it was removed. I could mention hundred of cases where the text in a post / reply was changed, so that the reply was appearing completely unrelated to the content of the post, or hundred of cases where the reply was changed, to appear more helpful, after others replied to the same post.

Thanks, @ErmesT

Yes, I'm aware of that feature too. But at that time I didn't consider it as an important feature.

But later, when the feature is no longer exist, I'm just realized that it's quite confusing when read a discussion with unrelated responses, and not aware that something has been changed/edited by the author. Especially when he/she have edited it completely. Wkwkk.. 😄
